A full-color coffee table book — hardbound, gold debossed cover, headband, ribbon marker, dust jacket — produced through a traditional printer and bindery, not print-on-demand. I came into the project after the original designer fell through, with files but no completed manuscript and no time to start the design process from the beginning.
The book is 192 pages — exactly 192, set by the 12-signature binding structure. Unlike print-on-demand, where pages can be added or removed freely, a traditionally bound book has a fixed page count. The manuscript was still being written in the final week before press. The design had to absorb continuous changes while holding together as a coherent whole.
I handled the full production chain: design, image preparation, printer selection, and oversight of the printing and bindery operations.
