eBook Design
According to manybooks.net,
30% of all the ebooks downloaded from the site are in PDF format.
The next most frequent format is Plucker at 10%. With Adobe
Digital Editions, for which like Acrobat, the reader is free,
and which can read PDF formatted ebooks, expect to see that share
of market go up.
Ebooks are designed very much
like regular books, except the inside and outside margins are often
made equal, so that the pages don't jump from side to side of the
reader. We have looked at various software for creating ebooks,
some free, many quite expensive. Except for html coding used in
some ebook formats, none seem to come close to InDesign for control
of type, page elements, illustrations, etc.
